Canada is known throughout the world for several things…Maple syrup, Hockey, 'Eh'… and snow. Most Canadians, however, often find it difficult to get out and fully experience the different activities our winters have to offer. Family Paddling Adventures is committed to getting out and enjoying the quiet beauty of a bug free winter vacation where more snow is actually a good thing! Snow shoeing and Cross Country Skiing are the mainstays of our winter program, and are the perfect activities to get you and your family out for a fun winter’s day!
We provide all of the gear including skiis, snowshoes, boots and toboggans as well as full instruction to help your family learn and have fun!
CROSS COUNTRY SKIING 1 DAY GETAWAY This introductory skiing adventure will lead us down a beautiful trail in nearby King City, just north of Toronto. Our morning will cover the basics of cross country skiing techniques before heading out to enjoy the gorgeous forested trails. We will enjoy many pit stops along the way to enjoy the scenery and have some fun in the snow for the kids!
A piping hot lunch served by the fire in a warm log cabin will compliment a perfect day in the woods, while your little sleepy little ones on the way home remind you of how much fun your day was! No cross country skiing experience necessary!

SNOWSHOEING 1 DAY GETAWAY This introductory snowshoeing adventure will lead us on and off a beautiful trail in nearby King City, just north of Toronto. Our adventure will cover the basics of snowshoeing gear and technique before heading out. Once we are out and about, our focus will shift onto the natural surroundings and the creatures who inhabit them taking lots of time for the kids to have fun in the snow! The theme of the day will be nature interpretation and tracking, where we will follow tracks left in the snow, and to try to discover some of the incredible strategies used by the creatures of our woods to survive Canada’s chilly winter months.
